Types of Audiences Available for Targeting with Bidtellect

First Party

First-party data is information that a company or brand collects about its customers.  Many times, this data resides in Customer Relations Management (CRM), publisher or email systems and is not available in a format to target customers.

First-party data aggregators specialize in transforming this data into profiles that can be used for Behavioral targeting. This data is proprietary and only available for use by that brand.  Therefore, there is no fee associated with using first-party data.

Retargeting

Retargeting Audiences are a type of first-party data because they are built from actions occurring on a customer’s campaigns or website.

A retargeting pixel can be placed on an advertiser’s web page, appended to our conversion pixel, in the click URL, or on an impression tag. The most common use case is on an advertiser’s web page. When a user visits that page or performs a user action, like a search or item purchase, the pixel activates or “fires”. This places a cookie in the user’s browser, adding the user to the Retargeting Audience. Advertisers are then able to target their campaigns to this retargeted audience.

Retargeting is a great tactic to leverage for CPA, ROAS, Direct Response campaigns.

Third-Party

Third-party data is generated from outside data sources that are collected by a company or brand.  There are many data providers/companies that sell third-party data and it is accessible through many different avenues (like through our provider, Lotame).

Data is categorized by segments can be used by any brand and combined into Behavioral Audiences.  There are fees associated with using third-party data.
